Nono’s is a restaurant chain serving nostalgic comfort food inspired by the owner’s youth. The first branch was opened in 2017, and there are now nine locations.
The COVID-19 pandemic presented a challenge for the restaurant, which is known for its relaxed atmosphere and friendly service staff.
However, the owners saw this as an opportunity to innovate and improve methods of delighting diners.
The owner, Baba Ibazeta-Benedicto, studied culinary arts in California and worked at Masse’s Pastries in Berkeley before opening her first bakeshop, Classic Confections, in 2007.
Nono’s serves comfort food inspired by Chef Baba’s childhood in the United States and the Philippines, and the restaurant aims to bring customers a warm and homey dining experience.
