Giligan’s is a restaurant chain that started in January 1997 with a marine-inspired theme. The name “Giligan’s” was derived from the owners’ father’s name, “Guillermo,” and the TV show “Gilligan’s Island.”
The restaurant is decorated with maritime decor throughout, such as ropes hanging from the ceiling, an actual ship’s wheel by the entrance, vintage lanterns by the bar, framed old maps hung up beside miniature sailing ships, lighthouses, pirates, captains, ancient antique ships, and enclosed nautical navigational devices.
Despite the focus on the theme, Giligan’s is known for serving excellent food at an affordable price. They offer perennial favorites like sizzling sisig and fried garlic chicken, and they have a “Groupies (Family Meals)” option that provides freebies and discounts for groups. The restaurant is family-oriented during the day and a chill-out spot at night.
Giligan’s first branch was in Blue Ridge, Quezon City, and it was successful enough to pave the way for more than 100 branches across the country. The owners take pride in their outstanding quality of food, matched with good service, and aim to please every discerning patron who visits the restaurant.
